How Does Our PHP Team Work?

Developing PHP projects at our agency isn't just about writing code – it's a collaborative process where experience, innovation, and attention to detail come together. Take a look at what the working routine of our PHP developers looks like.

Regular PHP Meetups: Sharing Know-How and News

Twice a month, the whole PHP team gets together for tech meetups. These aren't boring meetings, but a lively exchange of knowledge where everyone can contribute their own experience. Here we present new technologies, discuss optimizations, or work through problems we've run into on projects.

It often happens that someone shows off an elegant solution that the whole team then adopts. Or, the other way around – someone points out a pitfall they ran into, saving everyone else hours of debugging. These meetups are the heart of our learning.

Everyone's opinion is welcome here. No topic is too advanced or too simple. If someone wants to discuss it, we discuss it.

Project Meetings

The PHP team is split into two groups: Support and Projects.

Support takes care of SLA clients and maintaining projects that are already live, while also working on projects that need less time capacity.

The project team handles big projects planned months in advance — large projects and e-shops.

Support meetings: Planning and coordination

At least once a week, we meet for a support meeting where we plan out work for the coming week. We go over project priorities, address any blockers, and coordinate who's working on what. This way, everyone has a clear picture of what's ahead of them, and we all know who to turn to when we need help.

Project meetings: From kick-off to weekly syncs

For every larger project, we start with a kick-off meeting, where the whole team goes through the requirements, technical specifications, and plans out the architecture. For long-term projects, we then continue with regular weekly meetings where we track progress and address any challenges.

Workflow: From assignment to release

Our development process is carefully designed to ensure quality and reliability:

  1. Assignment – Every task starts with a clear assignment with defined acceptance criteria
  2. Questions – If something isn't clear, we ask right away. We'd rather spend five minutes discussing than hours reworking things
  3. Development – Actual development with an emphasis on clean code and best practices
  4. Code review – Every piece of code goes through careful review by a colleague. Four eyes see more than two
  5. Testing on the staging environment – Thorough testing of functionality as well as edge cases
  6. Release – Deployment to production with performance monitoring

Why work with us?

We're convinced that quality software only comes from an environment where people feel good and have room to grow. That's why we build on open communication, mutual support, and continuous improvement.
