Ton and Preciosa: New Websites in Time for the Prestigious Salone del Mobile Milano

This week, the famous Salone del Mobile trade fair is taking place in Milan — the event of the year for many exhibiting companies. And the fair's dates were exactly the deadline for our two freshly launched projects: the website for furniture maker Ton and the website for Preciosa Lighting.

A modern website
for Ton

Ton is a leading global manufacturer of designer bentwood furniture. After 20 years, it has now decided to change its visual identity and is introducing a completely fresh new design that won't leave anyone unmoved at first glance.

The iconic chair number 14 has disappeared from the logo, along with the left-leaning font. Along with that came just the right moment for a major overhaul of the website.

How we worked

"The website includes a complete product catalog with a sophisticated 3D configurator, which lets you view any configuration of a product – and, thanks to augmented reality (AR), even right in your own home." explains Petr Grochál, a developer at Superkoders.

Besides the product portfolio, you can see products in action through visualizations, and in the reference projects section you can find your nearest showroom, plus other contacts and learn interesting facts about the company's history. All of that in seven language versions – which was quite a challenge for the content managers.

We also implemented various additional features, one worth mentioning being displaying content based on the visitor's region.

Extras for professionals

An important part of the website is the Business zone – a section for B2B partners, where designers and architects can download 2D/3D models for their visualizations, and salespeople can find price lists, marketing materials, and other resources they need.

Interestingly, the 3D configurator also offers the option to download the customized model. What does that mean in practice? An architect can use the product in its exact final intended form in their visualization.

All content is fully manageable thanks to our SUPERADMIN CMS, which allows users to work with content blocks. Behind the scenes, the whole site is connected to the company's internal systems.

How does the client rate the new website?

"The website was built based on an analysis of the requirements of Ton's sales staff and resellers around the world. That's why it includes an interactive furniture configurator, where you can set up the exact product variant the customer wants, including color, wood type, and upholstery."

A polished website
for Preciosa Lighting

Grand crystal chandeliers found in luxury destinations around the world – that's the work of the Czech company Preciosa Lighting. Their intricately crafted chandeliers were practically begging for a website presentation to match.

A visually striking website, designed by the studio blackfish, took quite a long time to build with us. "The sheer number of content components, styles, and page types that emerged in the design at the start turned out, over time, during the content-filling phase, to be very ambitious." explains Petr Goca, a project manager at Superkoders. Because of that, some parts of the site remain unfinished or hidden even after launch.

How we worked

Even so, the new website is very rich in content. You'll learn what Signature design is, and you can browse technical details, photos, videos, and product visualizations.

In the references section, you can peek into gorgeous hotels around the world and meet the designers behind these gems.

The site runs on the SUPERADMIN CMS once again, meaning all the content is of course fully editable by users. Subtle animations have also been added to the site for a nicer browsing experience.

All that's left is to thank both companies for their trust, for the collaboration, and above all for filling the websites with content. A solid technical foundation is important, but a website with no content isn't worth much.

On behalf of the whole Superkoders team, I wish both companies a successful trade fair!
